Decisions about your or your child’s care is your right to make those decisions. These decisions become more difficult if, due to illness or a change in mental condition, you are unable to tell your doctor or your children’s doctor and loved ones what kind of healthcare treatments you want for yourself or children. That is why it is important to make these wishes known.
Advance Directives, which include living wills, healthcare power of attorney and durable power of attorney, are the legal documents that allow the direction to medical personnel, and family concerning the future when you cannot speak for yourself or address difficult decision in the stressful situation for your child.
