The Empower Quality team hosts a variety of committees to ensure members and providers receive the best experience possible. Some of the details of these committees can be found below.
Consumer Advisory Council (CAC)
The Consumer Advisory Council provides input to Empower directly from members on how well they may understand member processes, materials, and information. The Council also provides a member perspective about emerging member experience (satisfaction) and deficits in services, Care Coordination and support that may be identified through complaint and grievance trends but also through direct observations.
Medical Quality Management Committee (MQMC)
The MQMC is the Quality Improvement Program’s senior committee reporting to the QAPI Committee that is comprised of the Empower BOM participation. The MQMC drives the oversight of the Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Strategic Plan, ongoing work and improvements throughout the year.
Credentialing Committee
The purpose of the Empower Credentialing Review Committee is to:
- Review potential network providers
- Provide oversight of vendors performing credentialing activities
- Develop, monitor, and maintain standards for the education, training, and licensure of a network of participating providers, practitioners, facilities, hospitals, and other organizational providers.
Drug Utilization Review Committee (DURC)
The DUR Committee is composed of actively practicing physicians, pharmacists, and other practicing healthcare professionals, or other external practitioners who can contribute clinical expertise to oversee the appropriate formulary management policies/protocols, and initiatives for Empower.
